We live without realizing it: our mind slowly but surely absorbs the pollution that surrounds it. And in turn it starts to produce them.
A polluted mind produces a polluted social environment, a polluted natural environment and a polluted body: both from the mind, both from society and from the environment.
The body is the true "weak" subject on whom the effects of this perverse chain are discharged. But this "body" is what each of us lives to live on this planet. Thus a vicious circle is created in which a polluted and sick body goes to support a mind that produces pollution in and around itself.
As happens every time a system goes under stress, the Coronavirus emergency is highlighting the limits of the society of polluted minds ...
The mind of each of us is inhabited by the ghost of the ego, which believes itself to be a unique, isolated and substantial entity. This is the "polluting" nucleus that if, instead of being in some way contrasted and reduced, it is pushed, pumped, amplified, it causes mental pollution to spill through thoughts, choices and behaviors.
Acts and choices that at the beginning regard the individual, of each of us, but which over time become social models that begin to pollute the minds of others, then the social and natural environment, then the bodies of both those who live in these minds, and those that surround them.
Then we begin to see highly polluted behaviors appreciated and recognized, such as self-referentiality, the search for an elitist life, the search for authority, self-affirmation at all costs, aggression mixed with competitiveness, the production of structured and rigid hierarchies, the search for personal (individual or company) enrichment without ethics.
Today, thanks also to this "global" Coronavirus infection, all the damage caused by this pollution is evident before the eyes: starting from the behavior of individual citizens, moving on to that of people in sight and influential (politicians, actors, journalists , heads of companies, etc.), or with democratic powers (heads of state, governors, representatives of institutions, directors of health institutions, etc.), to end up with the economy and society, both real and virtual (the one expressed from social networks).
In every environment and at every level there is this pollution. Unlike Coronavirus, we all already have it. You will tell me that this story is not new. Indeed it is not. For thousands of years man has been searching for the way to overcome his mental pollutant. Many paths have been traced. Some work, many do not. But the difference today is the numbers: on this planet we humans are many and the pollution that comes out of our minds is putting life on Earth at risk.
The virus, like any virus, takes advantage of the vulnerabilities of the bodies that host it to do its job: replicate itself. The contrast to this action of the virus is therefore given by healthy bodies, capable of developing appropriate immune responses, but also by minds that know how to implement choices and behaviors adequate to resist the tendency of the virus to spread. Minds that know how to get out of the "I" grip and begin to grasp the interconnection that characterizes our global organism (that of Mother Earth) and thus find the lucidity and strength to get out of the sick and polluting automatisms that characterize them .
Then we can see this Coronavirus as a signal, a warning: if we want to continue living on this planet, we must reduce pollution in our minds (through meditation, moments of solitude, reflection, silence, contact with us themselves), so that even society returns to being more equitable (social inequality induces in those who feel disadvantaged biological alterations that lower the immune system and open the way to many diseases, as well as to Coronavirus), the natural environment can return to breathe (air and water pollution, domestic and food produces a permanent inflammatory response in the body that weakens it; the chemical residues present in the products we use and eat go to dysregulate the endocrine and immune systems) and so our bodies can return to be healthier (healthy nutrition, movement, sport, natural anti-inflammatory products, but also contact, caresses, hugs). If we reverse the vicious circle of our polluted and polluting mind, fear will no longer have much space in us, the Earth will thank and the virus, any virus, will not have an easy life.
